The Group’s first “Pubs and Pillboxes” Walk took place in spring 2014, and was led by local expert and archivist Alf Wright. Alf has kindly led members of the Group on several other Pillbox Walks since, the latest of which was in October 2019. As you can see below, there are many pillboxes still around, and most are accessible from public footpaths.
